Cassandra Clare to Visit CBS on Sunday Morning

This Sunday (August, 18) Cassandra Clare will pay a visit to CBS. Cassandra Clare's interview with Serena Altschul will air at 9:00 am ET on "Good Morning With Charles Osgood" on CBS.
"I think I'm writing for, like, the imaginary me," Clare tells Altschul. "You know, like, I'm writing the book that I would have wanted when I was 17 years old."Clare, whose real name is Judy Rumelt, started writing City of Bones in a tiny Brooklyn closet that served as her bedroom. She worked at the Hollywood Reporter during the day and wrote the novel when she was off. The inspiration for her first book came from walking around New York City after the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks, she tells Altschul.
"It felt like New York was at war," she says. "And I remember thinking... how I kind of wished there was a magical race of people who could protect the city. You know? And I think that was where I got the first idea of maybe I could create a world in which there were these - sort of - Supernatural protectors."

Watch the Official Trailer for 'The Mortal Instruments: CITY OF BONES' Game

The official Mortal Instruments game by PlayFirst now has an official trailer!
While a mobile game based on a movie that, itself, is based on a young adult fantasy book franchise might sound like a marketing-spun disaster, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones looks like a promising fit for the interactive medium. In fact, the series’ premise--which sees half-angel, half-human “Shadowhunters” thwarting supernatural threats on the streets of New York City--seems as well suited to twitchy-thumbed gamers as it does popcorn-scoffing filmgoers.
Although this video is from MTV, it should be playable in some other countries. Check it out:

Kevin Zegers Talks About Alec Lightwood and Says "He's Kind of a Bad-ass" with Bello Magazine

Kevin Zegers is featured on this month's Bello Magazine cover. Inside the magazine, Kevin Zeger talks about his upcoming movie -The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones- and the character he plays (Alec Lightwood).
“The thing that I didn’t want was for him to be some generic, prototypical character, what people would expect from the gay character,” Zegers said. “For me, it was about creating a character whose sexuality didn’t matter…I actually don’t think it’s that big of a f**** issue anymore. Certainly not with me, and especially not with the generation that read this book. So it wasn’t something that we really focused on.
But one thing I was aware of was the fact that there haven’t been many great examples of a really strong gay character, one of the leads in a really big movie who happens to be gay and who’s also kind of a bad-ass.”
