Videos of the 'Mortal Instruments' cast at WonderCon 2013

A lot of us couldn't be at WonderCon 2013 but thanks to wwwramasscreencom, we have a video from the City of Bones panel!

The 'City of Bones' cast at WonderCon 2013

Today (March 30), the City of Bones cast, the director (Harald Zwart) and Cassandra Clare all made an appearance at WonderCon 2013.

IGN tells us:
They screened the brand new trailer for the film before taking questions from the audience. Clare said that the film, which she hasn't seen in its entirety, is as close to the spirit of the book as possible without being 10 hours long. She recalled the great access she was given, from hours of conversations with the casting director to visits to the set and even being able to make a cameo in the movie.
Collins said they needed to make Clary accessible to the audience, someone who could be your friend amidst all these crazy situations. Bower said his character will be both vulnerable and snarky. All of the panelists said (surprise!) how much they enjoyed working on the film and with each other.
The shadowhunters at WonderCon 2013 got a first look at the theatrical trailer to The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Although most of us couldn't be there, we have picture from the ones who did make it!

Our first picture of Lily Collins in an interview, and look at that, she's dressed in black!

Robert Sheehan talks about the adventures of 'The Mortal Instruments'

From an interview from xposéEntertainment with Robert Sheehan at the Jameson Empire Awards:
Robert Sheehan says 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' will be adventurous like 'Indiana Jones'.
The actor - who stars alongside Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower in the hotly anticipated big screen adaptation of Cassandra Clare's young adult sci-fi novel - has likened the film to the Harrison Ford-starring franchise, revealing it has an ''uninhibited sense of adventure''.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz on the red carpet, he said: ''It's a great big fat action film. Basically, I think it's magical and wonderful. For me, it was lots of great big fun shooting it because I was regressed back to being a boy because it was all very fantastical. There were lots of vampires, werewolves and all that business. It was great. It lent itself well to the imagination.
''I think it has an uninhibited sense of adventure. There's a wonderful, tangential sense to the adventure, much in the way of Indiana Jones, where he basically gets pulled to and fro in the mad tide of adventure and [the films are] completely out of control from start to finish.
''That's what I love about the script and that's what I think the script has done.''
The former 'Misfits' star also confirmed that he and his fellow cast mates are signed on to star in potential sequels to the movie, which is based on the first of Clare's bestselling 'The Mortal Instruments' books - five of which have been published, with a sixth due for release next year.
Quizzed about his contractual obligations for future sequels, he said: ''Yes, we are indeed.'

MTV's exclusive video on Clary Fray on The Mortal Instruments set

MTV has shown us the first look of The Mortal Instruments set, a first look at Magnus Bane, and now, they have another clip of the cast talking about the amazing Clary Fray
"I love the stories. I love Clary because she's this heroine who's this normal girl, who finds out she has these powers," the actress told MTV News during a recent visit to the Toronto-based set. "The emotion is there. It's not just a CGI world. It's not just a translation of a book. It's more emotionally, character-based than just aesthetically beautiful."
"She's an absolute star and incredible, on-the-moment brilliant actor and consummate professional," said Robert Sheehan, who plays Clary's best friend Simon. "It's lovely to have someone like that for the really emotional, dramatic stuff. That's what really makes the film, first and foremost, a human story. Because if it's not that, it's not really relatable or interesting."
"To get to watch Lily do something — that's really amazing," [Jamie Campbell Bower] said. "There have been times I've been in a scene with Lily, and she's doing something, and I just zone out, being like 'God, you're brilliant. Oh wait! I'm actually meant to be saying something.' I'm like, 'Oh, crikey! There's words at this point.' "
"I love Clary. I love this series," [Lily Collins] enthused. "I'm so ready. I'm so ready to be a Shadowhunter a little more since I've only gotten a taste of it in this film."

City of Bones Cast at WonderCon Saturday, March 30

Earlier this week, Lily Collins invited all the Shadowhunters to WonderCon. As promised, Cassie posted (on tumblr) details about WonderCon, the movie, and her Clockwork Princess tour.

About Clockwork Princess book signing:

  • I always try to sign everyone’s books at a signing. The only few times I haven’t managed it have been when the bookstore wound up closing and tossing me out. But the whole idea of a book signing is, you know, you get your books signed. :)
  • By me, yes. By Lily, probably not — she is around for the Q and A part of the signings and some photos, but she won’t be signing book.

About WonderCon:
  • Some of The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones cast will be at WonderCon on Saturday, March, 30 at 2:30 pm PDT
  • Lily Collins, Kevin Zegers, and Jamie Campbell Bower will be there along with the director, Harald Zwart and Cassandra Clare
  • There will be a new City of Bones trailer released at WonderCon
WonderCon is set at the Anaheim Convention Center, California. For more info visit ComicCon/WonderCon.org.

About City of Bones posters:
  • I am pretty sure the new poster is just for movie theaters. Usually when they start selling movie posters it is through bookstores, comic stores, Hot Topics, etc. and it’s closer to the film’s release.
Reasons why some people have received Clockwork Princess early:
  • Because embargoes are always broken. People got the last Harry Potter book early. Despite the fact that bookstores have strict instructions not to sell the book, there are always employees who forget/don’t care etc. The fault is not with the people who bought the book, keep that in mind. And, if you really don’t want to be spoiled:
  • 1) Avoid the tags
  • 2) Use Savior or something else like it to blacklist topics like Clockwork Princess and Will Herondale
  • 3) Consider staying off tumblr entirely.
  • And when you do get the book, don’t read the family tree first. You’ll be sorry if you do!
  • It would be nice if you could trust other people to protect you from spoilers but you CAN’T. You have to protect yourself.

A surprise, as promised by @CassieClare: Mortal Instruments at WonderCon

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones cast will be at WonderCon this year!
WonderCon runs from March 29-31 (Easter Weekend) at the Anaheim Convention Center, California.
Check out the video of Lily (Clary) inviting you to WonderCon on The Mortal Instruments facebook page. In the video Lily says
Hey guys it’s Lily. I’m so excited to tell you that we’re going to be in Anaheim California for this year’s Wondercon where you will get an exclusive sneak peek of The Mortal Instruments and you’ll get to see our new trailer and poster. I hope to see you there.
Only a limited amount of people can make it to WonderCon, but Cassie assures us that there will be a new theatrical trailer and a new poster by the end of March.
So 1) yes, Lily, Jamie, Harald, me, and perhaps others :) will be at Wondercon in Anaheim this year, doing a panel, answering questions, and most of all — debuting the new theatrical trailer and the new poster that will go up in theaters!
2) While it would be absolutely awesome if you could attend Wondercon to see us, if you don’t: this is still very good news since what it means is that there will be a new theatrical trailer and a new poster ready to go out into the world at the end of March. Wondercon is just a way of saying “THESE ARE READY TO GO!” (And trust me when I find out exactly when our Wondercon panel is and which movie the trailer will be attached to, I will post about it RIGHT HERE. I have been asking myself almost every day.)

Jemima West Talking About The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Jemima West interviewed at The Gérardmer Festival
Jemima West will playing Isabelle Lightwood in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie.
Pour la Cité des Ténèbres sautez à 3:09 dans le video.

English Translation:
Interviewer: So about the Mortal Instruments?

Jemima: Well, The Mortal Instruments, it’s an adaptation of a book by Cassandra Clare.
It’s the first adaptation out of the five -or six.
It’s interesting because it is based around the things that may or may not exist like angels, demons, vampires -it's all the things that I love.
One moment, it’s here and then next it’s completely imaginary.
Interviewer: Do you play the angel or the demon?
Jemima: Angel, I'm a Shadowhunter. (Says “Shadowhunter” in English)
… but I have brown hair with a full black costume.
It’s not like the kind of angel you would imagine with all white.

*translated it myself, so there may be some errors*
