New CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE Snippet About Magnus's Father

Two -well, technically three- more months till City of Heavenly Fire. Here's to two/three more months of stressing about this final book in The Mortal Instruments.
Read a snippet to make it better:
“And I suppose you know who Magnus’ father is?” Luke said.
“I paid a lot of money once to find it out,” Raphael said.

New Valentine's Day CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE Snippet

It's a bit late, but your Valentine's Day Weekend just got better! Cassandra Clare released a new City of Heavenly Fire snippet just for us on Valentine's Day.
“Julian,” said Jia, in the same gentle voice, “would you do something for us? Would you take up the Mortal Sword?”
Clary sat up straight. She had held the Mortal Sword: she had felt the weight of it. The cold, like hooks in your skin, dragging the truth out of you. You couldn’t lie holding the Mortal Sword, but the truth, even a truth you wanted to tell, was agony.
“They can’t,” she whispered. “He’s just a kid —“
“He’s the oldest of the kids who escaped the Institute,” Jace said under his breath. “They don’t have a choice.”
Julian nodded, his thin shoulders straight. “I’ll take it.”
Robert Lightwood passed behind the podium then and went to the table. He took up the sword and returned to stand in front of Julian. The contrast between them was almost funny: the big, barrel-chested man and the lanky, wild-haired boy.

Julian reached a hand up and took the sword. As his hand closed around the hilt, he shuddered, a ripple of pain that was quickly forced down. Emma, behind him, started forward, and Clary caught a glimpse of the look on her face — pure fury — before Helen caught at her and pulled her back.
City of Heavenly Fire will be released on May, 27th:

Earlier in the year, The Hollywood Reporter said The Infernal Devices had been assigned a screen play writer. Interestingly enough, during the last week of December (2013), Cassandra Clare has replied to a fan about The Infernal Devices becoming a movie and it looks like there might be a Infernal Devices show instead:
Have any dream casts in your head, yet? Sound off in the comments!

New Christmasy CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE Snippet

Sorry for the delay, but I've been on vacation and then I had to catch up on work... But I now have time to catch you all up on the latest Shadowhunter news!
First off is the new City of Heavenly Fire snippet that Cassandra Clare released as a Christmas present to us all:
The Frays had never been a religiously observant family, but Clary loved Fifth Avenue at Christmas time. The air smelled like sweet roasted chestnuts, and the window displays sparkled with silver and blue, green and red. This year there were fat round crystal snowflakes attached to each lamppost, sending back the winter sunlight in shafts of gold[B1] . Not to mention the huge tree at Rockefeller Center. It threw its shadow across them as she and Simon draped themselves over the gate at the side of the skating rink, watching tourists fall down as they tried to navigate the ice.
Clary had a hot chocolate wrapped in her hands, the warmth spreading through her body. She felt almost normal—this, coming to Fifth to see the window displays and the tree, had been a winter tradition for her and Simon for as long as she could remember.
“Feels like old times, doesn’t it?” he said, echoing her thoughts as he propped his chin on his folded arms.
She chanced a sideways look at him. He was wearing a black topcoat and scarf that emphasized the winter pallor of his skin. His eyes were shadowed, indicating that he hadn’t fed on blood recently. He looked like what he was—a hungry, tired vampire.
Well, she thought. Almost like old times. “More people to buy presents for,” she said. “Plus, the always traumatic what-to-buy-someone-for-the-first-Christmas-after-you’ve-started-dating question.”
“What to get the Shadowhunter who has everything,” Simon said with a grin.
“Jace mostly likes weapons,” Clary sighed. “He likes books, but they have a huge library at the Institute. He likes classical music …” She brightened. Simon was a musician; even though his band was terrible, and was always changing their name—currently they were Lethal Soufflé—he did have training. “What would you give someone who likes to play the piano?”
“A piano.”
Simon.”
“A really huge metronome that could also double as a weapon?”
Clary sighed, exasperated.
“Sheet music. Rachmaninoff is tough stuff, but he likes a challenge.”
“Now you’re talking. I’m going to see if there’s a music store around here.” Clary, done with her hot chocolate, tossed the cup into a nearby trash can and pulled her phone out. “What about you? What are you giving Isabelle?”
“I have absolutely no idea,” Simon said. They had started heading toward the avenue, where a steady stream of pedestrians gawking at the windows clogged the streets.
“Oh, come on. Isabelle’s easy.”
“That’s my girlfriend you’re talking about.” Simon’s brows drew together. “I think. I’m not sure. We haven’t discussed it. The relationship, I mean.”
“You really have to DTR, Simon.”
“What?”
“Define the relationship. What it is, where it’s going. Are you boyfriend and girlfriend, just having fun, ‘it’s complicated,’ or what? When’s she going to tell her parents? Are you allowed to see other people?”
Simon blanched. “What? Seriously?”
“Seriously. In the meantime—perfume!” Clary grabbed Simon by the back of his coat and hauled him into a cosmetics store that had once been a bank. It was massive on the inside, with rows of gleaming bottles everywhere. “And something unusual,” she said, heading for the fragrance area. “Isabelle isn’t going to want to smell like everyone else. She’s going to want to smell like figs, or vetiver, or—”
“Figs? Figs have a smell?” Simon looked horrified; Clary was about to laugh at him when her phone buzzed. It was her mother.
where are you? It’s an emergency.

Lily Collins Waiting to Hear News About the Sequel: CITY OF ASHES

With MTV's latest chat at Glamour magazine's Women of the Year Award with our Clary Fray, Lily Collins, she states that "There is a lot of conversation still going on. I don't know anything else; I kind of am with everyone else in the waiting game."
"I think I'm like all the fans going, 'So, what's happening?' But you know they will be the first ones to figure it out when we do. You never know, right?"
Check out the interview:
So, at the moment, it is still unclear as to if the sequel will happen; but, let's keep our fingers crossed!

CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE could be the 'Saddest and Happiest' book of 2014

According to Cassandra Clare's assistant, the final book to The Mortal Instruments has the saddest and happiest endings she read.
Could City of Heavenly Fire be the heartbreak of 2014?
On the bright side, if you're lucky, Cassandra Clare might visit your area and you can gather happiness from that.

Visual 'CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE' Snippet by Cassandra Clare and Cassandra Jean

Cassandra Clare sent Cassandra Jean -one of the illustrator from The Shadowhunter's Codex- a snippet from The Mortal Instruments: City of Heavenly Fire. With Cassandra Clare's permission, Cassandra Jean has illustrated part of the snippet and shared it with all of us! Check it out:

E! Online Asks "Which Fanchise has the Fiercest Heroine?"

Check it out, E! Online is asking which heroine out of Hunger Games, Twilight, Harry Potter, Divergent and The Mortal Instruments has the strongest heroine.
Here is what E! Online has to say about our Clary Fray:
Clary Fray, The Mortal Instruments (Lily Collins)

Strengths: The Shadowhunter can see monsters mortals can't—which comes in handy when they're trying to kill her and the people she loves. Clary also possesses the ability to create new runes because of the extra angel blood running through her veins.

Weaknesses: Clary can be quite stubborn at times. Not long after her mother goes missing, she learns that her father, Jonathan Rhys Meyers' Valentine Morgenstern, has been experimenting on the Downworlders and demons, making him one of the most dangerous men she's ever encountered. For a time, she even believed that that her boyfriend, Jamie Campbell Bower's Jace Lightwood, might be her biological brother. Talk about a head-trip!

Nov. 3: New BANE CHRONICLES Snippet from Cassandra Clare

The next installment for The Bane Chronicles will be out in about a week! Check out this long snippet from What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything: (And Who You're Not Officially Dating Anyways).
“How have you been keeping? You know, since the last time you summoned me,” said Elyaas, the demon.
“What?” Magnus asked.
“You don’t remember me?” said the tentacle demon.
“I summon a lot of demons,” Magnus said weakly.
There was a long pause. Magnus stared into the bottom of his coffee cup and desperately willed more coffee to appear. This was something a lot of mundanes did too, but Magnus had one up on those suckers. His mug did slowly fill again, until it was brimming with rich dark liquid. He sipped and looked at Elyaas, who was shifting uncomfortably from tentacle to tentacle.
“Well,” said Elyaas. “This is awkward.”
“It’s nothing personal,” said Magnus.
“Maybe if I jogged your memory,” Elyaas suggested helpfully. “You summoned me when you were searching for a demon who cursed a Shadowhunter? Bill Herondale?”
“Will Herondale,” said Magnus.
Elyaas snapped his tentacles as if they were fingers. “I knew it was something like that.”
“You know,” Magnus said, enlightened, “I think I do remember. I’m sorry about that. I realized right away that you weren’t the demon I was looking for. You looked kind of blue in one of the drawings, but obviously you are not blue, and I was wasting your time. You were pretty understanding about it.”
“Think nothing of it.” Elyaas waved a tentacle. “These things happen. And I can look blue. You know, in the right light.”
“Lighting’s important, it’s true,” said Magnus.
“So whatever happened with Bill Herondale and that curse a blue demon put on him?” The cecaelia demon’s interest seemed genuine.
“Will Herondale,” Magnus said again. “It’s actually rather a long story.”
“You know, sometimes we demons pretend we’re cursing people and we don’t really do it,” said Elyaas chattily. “Like, just for kicks? It’s kind of a thing with us. Did you know that?”
“You could have mentioned it a century or two ago,” Magnus observed frostily.
Elyaas shook his head, smiling a slime-bedecked smile. “The old pretend-to-curse. It’s a classic. Very funny.” He appeared to notice Magnus’s unimpressed expression for the first time. “Not from your perspective, of course.”
“It wasn’t funny for Bill Herondale!” said Magnus. “Oh, damn it. Now you’ve got me doing it.”
Cassandra Clare also revealed that they have some Bane Chronicles narrator news that she "thinks you will be pleased" about.

Constantin to Restart Production for CITY OF ASHES and Filming in 2014

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmation from Constantin about The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes continuing with production and filming in 2014.
Constantin is pushing ahead with its adaptations of Cassandra Clare’s best-selling Mortal Instruments franchise and plans to restart production on the second film in the series, The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes, next year.
The executive producer, Martin Moskowicz, says that City of Bones' slight miss at the box-office can be explained by "[the] marketing campaign that was too narrowly focused on teenage fans, to the detriment of Clare’s 20- and 30-something readers"
And it also looks like Constantin has a lot of faith in this fandom:
"The fan response, from the blogosphere and the thousands of mails we have received, has encouraged us to keep going,” Moszkowicz told The Hollywood Reporter. “It's been overwhelmingly positive, in contrast to some other YA titles.”
Hopefully we'll get to see more set pictures in Toronto next year!
