Tribute Talks to Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower About 'The Mortal Instruments: CITY OF BONES'

On Tribute's June 2013 issue, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is featured in the magazine. In Lily Collins' interview, she talks about what was it like having Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing her dad:

Jonathan is so talented, it ups your game. You know he intesified all of us and brought new things out of us, especially for Clary's character. He would improv a line when I wasn't expecting it, to scare me. It did scare me but then between takes he's like, "Are you okay? Let's work through this, let me fix your hair." He's a lovely man and he's the perfect choice for Valentine.

 In Jamie Campbell Bower's interview, he talked about the chemistry between the actors:

People can see it. I think it was one of the big reasons that I was put in this role, because at the time I went for the screen test, physically I wasn't the image of who the character is. I think the saw a connection between us and they were like, "That's it! They are the characters."

At the end of the interview, Robert Sheehan confirms that he will be in The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes.

...I'm going to do that at the end of August. And then it's into Mortal Instruments "deux" (two), part "deux", till Christmas.

Official Premiere Date for 'The Mortal Instruments: CITY OF BONES' in LA

Yesterday, the director of The Mortal Instruments, Harald Zwart, answered some fan questions on tumblr. He released the news that the City of Bones official premiere for the US will take place in Los Angeles on August 12.

Looks like those lucky people attend will get to see City of Bones 10 days before the US release date!

Lily Collins on 'Why Humour in THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS Sets it Apart From Other Trilogies'

While doing press for her new movie, Stuck in Love, interviewers want to ask Lily Collins about her other upcoming movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Empire saw a bit of The Mortal Instruments footage last week, and they noticed that there is a bit of humor in movie. Lily Collins explains:

That's what Cassie wrote the book -with so much humour. And that's what's different from the other trilogies and other series of books; there's this humour and realness to it. And our director, Harald [Zwart], really wanted to keep that their because what a lot of the fans love is that humour. And that's what sets it apart -not making it a comedy but, making it have those real comedic elements to a fantasy world because if you take yourself too seriously as a full on fantasy, sometimes, the audience forgets that there's a realness to it and the characters. And I think those moments of laughter break it up; kind of make it more believable.

SonyPictures just released a new version of the trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The only difference is that this version says "In Theaters and IMAX August 21."

Keep in mind, this is for the US at the moment. We are not sure if Canada will follow and release the movie in IMAX too.
