On January 7th, nominate The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones for MTV Movie Brawl 2013

January 7th, fans can nominate City of Bones for a movie that they're most excited to see in 2013.

MTV will choose the top sixteen to face-off from there, they will continue eliminating movies until we are left with the can't-miss movie of 2013.

1/28: The Winner Revealed!

Shadowhunter End of The World Party

December 21st...predicted Doomsday on the Mayan calendar. Could it be that Sebastian is finally going to burn down the world instead??

What if we never...

• find out who Tessa picks?
• read the scene where Jace and Clary and/or Simon and Izzy go to South Carolina?
• get to see Malec reunite?
• see the demise of Sebastian (or his redemption, even though Cassie assures us there will be none?

That's why we are holding the very first ever (and hopefully not the last) Shadowhunter End of the World writing competition! Over the next 11 days, you will have the opportunity to write a short fanfic ending to The Mortal Instruments and/or Infernal Devices series in any manner you so choose. It can be funny, sad, disastrous...just make it creative! We'd like submissions to be at a word limit of 500 words or less.

The deadline for entry submission to themortalinstitute@gmail.com will be December 21st at 12:00 Eastern time. A panel of special judges will review your submissions, and we will select the top three from all submissions. The top three fanfic entries will have their work posted on the site for all to see!!

Along with the competition, we will have a special hashtag #TMIDoomsdayParty on December 21st, which we will start trending at 11 am EST.

Saving the best for last:

Mortal Instruments series: Like the House of Night series, this one's been around since 2007. But it's a machine that keeps on running, with a fourth installment that came out earlier this year and a fifth due in 2014. We're talking an urban fantasy with a kitchen sink full of fantasy characters, including demons, werewolves and, of course, vampires. A film is being made with Lily Collins in the lead role.
